The Round the Mountain classic has been run in one form or another since 1911. It’s New Zealand’s longest running race with a rich history – Ian Gray’s Round the Mountain is a collection of stories of the sweat, tears and nail-biting finishes, broken bikes, coveted prizes and the triumphs of cycling legends from 1911 to 2010.

This is a unique race, round a challenging 127km circuit of the mountain - there isn’t another race quite like it.
